Let’s Talk About The All Yellow Gowns From Guo Pei’s Spring Couture 2016 Show

Fashion designer Guo Pei had recently presented her couture collection for spring 2016 in Paris and it was magic. Most of her collection consisted in light colours but she gave us a little treat in between and dropped a few luxurious, all yellow looking evening gowns together with a long pants kind of evening look – kept all yellow.

One of my favourite yellow looks from this collection is the long pants evening outfit. It had a shiny see through shirt that had a heavy embroidered large tie, starting from its collar. The sleeves were long and fluffy, tightened at the end by large embroidered cuffs, to match the tie. The pants had the appropriate length and were tight on the knee but kept comfortable on the hips and slightly flare towards the foot.

My second favourite all yellow look is a luxurious gown that had a corsetish back, continued in front by a sort of shield looking piece starting from the chest, heavily embroidered, continuing the corset appearance down on the body to meet the skirt of the dress. This second part of the gown was voluminous, longer at the back and kept below the knee at the front. It appeared creased around the end of the embroidered top and fell into large loose pleats.

All yellow looks from Guo Pei spring couture 2016 collection looked spectacular and each piece appeared to hold its own special story.

This is another beautiful piece from Guo Pei’s couture 2016 collection. With long comfortable sleeves and an open V shaped, voluminous collar – the dress looked majestic on the runway. The embroidery looked different from the rest of the all yellow gowns, appearing to be denser on its large collar but one with the dress. The back kept the elegant vibe and had a train.

Haute couture and evening dress – all in one. This piece had a spectacular sort of long vest, widely opened on the dress and heavily embroidered, with fringed short sleeves. The back of the dress showed completely the A-line skirt and had an embroidered shawl with tassels, sitting on the shoulders.
