Met Gala 2016, which happened this Monday, brought celebrities, glam and “Fashion In An Age Of Technology” altogether in one gorgeous event. As expected, designers used the occasion to wow us with their ready to wear or custom made pieces. And yes, I do have my favourites.
MIRANDA KERR in LOUIS VUITTON
This two piece Louis Vuitton creation worn by Miranda Kerr is simply stunning. I love the long sleeves of the top and the jacket vibe going on. The skirt follows the pattern of the top, however, ends in a mermaid shape, with different fabric and folk motif at the bottom. Surprisingly, with so much going on, this look is a delight for the eye, combining different elements into one perfect image.

Very much in tune with this year’s Met Gala theme, Proenza Schouler’s dress worn by Brie Larson is a success. Despite the all metallic-all shiny fabric, the dress manages to look feminine and cute, thanks to its ruffled skirt with black edges and a cut-out waist topped with a casual ribbon.
POPPY DELEVIGNE in MARCHESAEmbed from Getty Images
Poppy Delevigne looks like a goddess from another land in this fringed metallic dress, creation of Marchesa. There is an abundance in details, from the cut-out waist build on nude base, to its wide V-neck heavily accessorised in a gothic style.
ANNA WINTOUR in CHANELEmbed from Getty Images
I love seeing Anna Wintour wearing Chanel. It is a beautiful dress, elegant and sophisticated, tasteful and simply gorgeous! I love the fringed shoulders, it blends beautifully with the rest of the dress. The neck has the lady like signature and I like how the only colourful piece of this dress is placed right bellow the neckline.

Another Louis Vuitton creation, this time even more progressive. It has little to do with norm and very much in common with this year’s Met Gala theme. The skirt resembles traditional folk costumes, with apron front and back. A night sky full of stars is used for motif and I like how everything looks playful and innocent.
DAKOTA JOHNSON in GUCCIEmbed from Getty Images
Dakota Johnson is a beautiful woman that looks gorgeous in any clothes, however she has her style and this dress by Gucci is no exception from it. Again, we have playfulness, this time played by stars in different colours and sizes. The top of the dress looks stunning and perfect. From the green lace, to how little stars were placed on the waist, and then randomly towards the thin straps. The skirt continues the playful vibe, keeping the colourful stars and I like how the designer chose an A-shape skirt instead of going for something tight on the body. The volume in the skirt works great with the small fragile top.

Although Met Gala had plenty of gorgeous dresses, this Marchesa gown is a delight of flowers and tulle. It looks girly and adorable, a rare sight to see among metallics and cut-outs.
