Tokio Hotel is Bringing Back the 90’s in Their Latest Music Release

Tokio Hotel is back with a new single after not long ago the band released ‘Melancholic Paradise’. I have to say, listening to this new track makes me feel like I’m back in time somehow when Bill Kaulitz was screaming his heart out on rock vibes. The die-hard fans noticed the similarity, and for sure it brought back a lot of memories from the “Humanoid” era for example. ‘When It Rains It Pours’ has a music video starring mainly Tom Kaulitz who’s rocking his guitar, his hair and at the same time doing a favor to viewers. On a very serious note, Tokio Hotel managed successfully to bring back the 90’s. Who’s in?

Megan Washington Releases Her New Collab with Japanese Wallpaper

Australian artist Megan Washington, aka Washington, is back with new work, this time spoiling us with a sweet collaboration she did with dream pop band Japanese Wallpaper. Back in November 2018, she released the single ‘Claws’, with lyrics and sound touching the right places of fans who have been waiting for new tracks since 2016. Now in 2019, she reworked just a tiny bit the same ‘Claws’, adding a more electro feel thanks to Japanese Wallpaper. I have to say I love both versions and I’m feeling super pumped for Washington’s comeback.

You Should Know About These Shows From Hera Seoul Fashion Week FW 2019

Hera Seoul Fashion Week had it’s very last FW 2019 shows just a couple of days ago, and it’s still on everyone’s mind. The five days event packed as much fashion as possible and prepared the Korean fashion-savvy for the following cold season.

Chang Kwang Hyo and few other names, including Sewing Boundaries who seemed to know the essence of Korean street style fashion – including the beloved long puffer jacket, bravely opened day one of Seoul Fashion Week. Besides the well-tailored men suit the South Korean designer introduced in his Caruso Menswear collection long aprons with a canvas feel. Ultimately the apron becomes a look-alike real-life art piece.

Songzio showcased a slightly more aggressive look, yet the clothes are inviting. Here we meet the metropolitan man who likes to keep it simple, without losing its edginess. Every piece looks impeccable, showing hints that he is a perfectionist above all. He wants the comfort, the style, and he is also the kind of man who likes to look unnaproachable.

Behind Munn’s unique look stands South Korean designer Han Hyun-min who won just last season the Best New Designer prize at Seoul Fashion Week. The presentation for FW 2019 had a mystical feel thanks to mysterious characters hiding behind lacy full face coverups, bucket hats, and odd makeup. In spite of the secrecy, each piece is on the catwalk to win your fashionable side. Flexible, modern, easy to combine with other pieces and overall just easy to wear.

Day five and last day of Seoul Fashion Week had the Charm’s fashion show, where models sported white highlights and as we know the South Koreans are all about looking as pretty as possible. The grey hair had been styled to look pretty, and every face on the catwalk received the good hairstyle, except for when the models rocked caps of all sorts. The clothes almost remind of Cruella, with spots of black on white mostly appearing to be stars of different sizes.

The Daily Front Row’s Awards Had Candice Swanepoel and a Whole Bunch of Other Bombshells

Embed from Getty Images

It was a bombshell affair at The Daily Front Row’s 5th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards on March 17. As for the dresses, red seemed to be the choice for the day or so it appeared. The red squad: Kate Hudson, Courtney Love, Alicia Silverstone, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jasmine Sanders, Ava Dash, Natalie Halcro and I’ll stop to here. Everyone looked amazing. If I would have to pick a favorite, I would go for voluptuous Natalie Halcro red silhouette. On another note, my ultimate girl crush Candice Swanepoel made a rare appearance (she does that since the birth of her baby boy) rocking a silver long dress with a perfect front slit, deep cleavage and cut-out back.

Asian Film Awards had its 13th edition today in Hong Kong, with nominees from all over Asia and winners alike. Obviously, what everyone wants to know is what movie from all five nominated for the best film won the award. Movie director Hirokazu Koreeda described Shoplifters ( Manbiki kazoku) as his “socially conscious” film, and a project he was thinking about for a couple of years. In the movie, a family of five is making it day by day with the help of shoplifting, when everything changes with the arrival of a stranger into the household. Shoplifters already brought director Hirokazu Koreeda the Palme d’Or award in May, during the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival. At the 13th Edition of Asian Film Awards, the movie received Best Film and Best Original Music award.

Best Director went to Lee Chang-dong for the South Korean psychological drama Burning, where he also produced and co-wrote. The film premiered on May 16, 2018, at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Early in 2019, although it had not received an actual nomination, Burning made it into 91st Academy Awards’ Best Foreign Language Film final of nine-film shortlist, on February 24 and with this becoming the first Korean film to make it to the final if this category. Director Lee Chang-dong also won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other winners include South Korean singer-actor Kim Jae-joong for the AFA Next Generation Award, Chinese actor and model Huang Jingyu for Best Newcomer with 2018 Chinese war film Operation Red Sea.

iHeartRadio Awards: Looks & Winners

Australian singer and songwriter Jessica Anne Newham aka Betty Who posed sweetly next to American actress Katie Stevens. The two share a considerable amount in height difference, but this did not stop them from posing next to each other and then having a laugh. Pretty in pink, that’s the definition of Katie Stevens, who had the most adorable pink dress to match with her pink eyeshadow. Betty Who went for a black see-through bodysuit.

Tiffany Young looked like a real pop star in her see trough high-knee boots and lacy cape. She sported blonde hair pinned back, a perfect cat eye and her Best Solo Breakout (Socially Voted Category) award. Good job Tiffany!

Billie Eilish said no to glam and instead stuck to her own signature style. Despite all the black, big accessories and general moody vibe, color and optimism shine through with the help of none other than Sailor Moon.

Now that’s a fun look Doralys Britto! I wanna wear it too! Feminine, modern and very summery.

German rapper Cro did a really cool thing and showed up at the event, to my absolute delight. The look is relaxed with a white tee, black trousers, and white casual shoes matching just right to rapper’s famous panda mask.

Bebe Rexha came dressed to win, and so she did. Her track “Meant To Be” featuring Florida Georgia Line received the Country Song of the Year award. It is a good song indeed. Bravo!

Emotional Show at Chanel Winter Fashion Show – A First Without Karl Lagerfeld

Embed from Getty Images

Last fashion show by Karl Lagerfeld is everywhere on the internet nowadays. Chanel lives on, yet the great designer who has been for 36 years linked to the house, has died. Watching the show, despite all the goodies happening in there, which I’ll be going in detail in second, I felt sad. Almost as if with his departure, Karl took with him the thrill and all the magic that he has built.

It’s funny how the last show under his name happened in a Switzerland like winter resort setting, Switzerland being Coco’s eternal place for rest. As for the show, magic as always. You could almost feel the breeze of icy air you would normally experience in a winter resort. And there, right in the middle of the fluffy street, the models walked beautifully in gorgeous coats and wide leg trousers. The collection carries an oversized, men’s style tailoring with chunky ’80s and even ’90s style logo jewelry look. The tweed shares the runway with knitted skirts and sweaters. And there’s the white. Simply mesmerizing, full white silhouettes, in either a dress or some fancy look with pants, top and coat, took the lead of the show. Even actress Penelope Cruz joined the fairies, dressed in a fluffy white dress and white winter shoes.

Speaking of celebs, there’s nothing better in fashion like a Chanel front row. Blackpink’s Jennie, Nana Komatsu, Kristen Stewart, Monica Bellucci, Claudia Schiffer, Gwei Lun-Me and more.

Vlad Caia and Chloé Bring the New Releases For The Music Blog Section

Romanian DJ Vlad Caia has five tracks in his sleeves released at about the beginning of the year. The EP named ‘Division 2’ (where on Earth are my roman numerals?) invites to a steady stream of sensations and gestures. There’s no journey to there but to here where things happen, yet if you’re not careful, you might miss the plot. It’s a subtle, yet rich world that you must experience.

Second music release comes from French DJ Chloé, who’s only yesterday announced her new EP ‘Sudden Impact’. It’s only three tracks, but enough to keep you satisfied and well fed. Rich in French electro vibes, ‘What Will Be’, ‘Resolve And Dive’ and ‘Last Go Round’ take you on a ‘let’s dance and live the life’ journey, which I’m certain you’ll love it just as much as I do.

Three New Music Releases Coming From European Producers

Voin Orowu’s music is fairly new to me, yet I was on board as soon as I got my ears on one of his tracks. And here we are, not long after, talking about a new LP with ten works coming from the producer, released on Kvitnu label. ‘Etudes From a Starship’ sounds deep and alien, yet Voin Orowu is all about space sounds. He works with a synthesizer for all the sounds he’s making. ‘Decay Instability’ is the latest release from the LP, so here you have it. You welcome!

And the groove you’ve been waiting for – just in tune for entering Spring, comes from Danish band M.I.L.K. The voice behind ‘Jet Ski’ belongs to vocalist Emil Wilk, who’s singing by himself a very chill, no worries song. The track has it’s very own music video, giving a glimpse of the singer, who looks bohemian and artsy. He stares into your soul while you’re kind of moving to the rhythm. I must say, I’ve already had it on repeat for the most part of today, which is not a surprise, but very good news indeed.

And last but not least release comes from the one and only Parov Stelar. The Austrian extraordinaire musician is releasing music when you’re least expecting. Or it’s just me being overly busy and not keeping with the rest of the world. Thing is, the track is here. From what I’ve read on its social media, this is the very first work from an upcoming brand new album – set for release somewhere at the end of the year. Man, the wait is long but has to be worth it. Till then, we have ‘Gringo’ to keep us company. The music video is said to be the hand-made work of Parov Stelar himself, who’s been creating with more than 1600 pictures a very lively scene. I am suspecting this will not be the last time we get to see the craft, as the whole album is still in ‘hiding’.

Cro Shows Off His Rapping Skills In New Collaboration With KitschKrieg

Cro is back with new work, this time gifting us with the collaboration he did with German band KitschKrieg, in which he raps next to the extraordinaire voices of AnnenMayKantereit and Trettmann. I could not have picked a better mix of artists to create this wunderschön track ‘5 Minuten’, as KitschKrieg named the work. There comes Cro, rapping lyrics in his signature style – sensual and sleepy. Next, there’s AnnenMayKantereit with a one of a kind ”sehr süß face. When he starts singing you get electrocuted. The guy with the sweetest face has the manliest voice you probably have heard in a very long time. This is the experience of a lifetime. You’ll never feel anything like it. And then there Trettmann, known for his reggae rapping style. He’s cool and talented. On another note, I literally don’t know who to thank for such a great collaboration. Whoever came up with the idea of bringing all these voices together deserves an award. ‘5 Minuten’ ladies and gentleman!

Jason Derulo’s Amazing Collab With LAY and Boy Band ‘NCT 127’

Jason Derulo pulled out a collab to be remembered between him, LAY and NCT 127. ‘Let’s Shut Up & Dance’ sounds like a good invitation, and obviously, we are not going to refuse it. As for LAY, the singer is doing pretty well in his solo career, considering he is also busy with his EXO projects. Congrats to boy band NCT 127 too. They look amazing in the video, which btw, have you seen it? Those video effects, damn! LAY’s sensual voice has been catching attention, and when I say ‘sensual’ I am just saying it the way it sounds to me. And it’s all good and fun. I am really enjoying this track and I love the music video.

Let’s Talk Fashion From The 91st annual Academy Awards

So, so many great looks at the Oscars; which makes it hard to choose favorites – but I will do it anyway cause I’m loving it. Let’s dig into it, shall we?

Amy Adams – I had to look twice at Amy Adams look, who’s 44. Yes. 44. She looks young, fun, attractive and current. Age reversing anyone?

Yes, bring in the yellow Maria Menounos! The look resembles one of a Disney princess, with hair looking soft and gentle.

Laura Marano joined the yellow fun, cause she rocked this gorgeous look, which not only looks dope but suits her skin too. This time yellow is paired with a pearly pink. How the dress is designed makes these two colors sit like besties and twins in one life.

Michelle Yeoh – In love with the dress. Simply stunning. No words more to add. Except for how gorgeous this dress is. I’ll stop. No, I can’t. I’m in love with this dress. The color; the design; the vibe; the details; the cleavage. I could actually float into a dream, mesmerized by how lovely this dress is.

Irina Shayk – Lately, the model likes to show off her short hair. For the Oscars, she turned it into a perfect bob, for the delight of her fans and for my delight as well. She’s perfect.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – The Dress! If it wasn’t for that extra detail on her off-shoulder sleeve, things would have been slightly different. However, it gets better and Rosie’s dress not only sits perfectly on her slim body but also carries details that stand out and take the look to a next level.

Chrissy Teigen – I loved her entire look. The dress she wore has 40’s accent. The color is great too and the feathers. I wouldn’t normally expect to see Crissy in such a style yet her choice for the Oscars proves a good point. You never know what might actually suit you, until you try it on.

Isabeli Fontana – What a gorgeous dress! She could have worn her hair up to emphasize even more the loveliness of her dress.

Premio Lo Nuestro 2019 – Winners & More

Premio Lo Nuestro 2019 happened on 21st February, awarding best in Latin music, yet the show took place in Miami, USA. Amongst those who left home holding a well-deserved trophy, Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Ozuna is the artist who had the most wins. Natti Natasha, who had the most nominations, the one and only J. Balvin and Mexican band Reik are just a few from those who joined the winners club.

I loved seeing Romanian Artist Inna attending the event. She wore a gorgeous progressive black two-piece combo and had a short bob. The show was presented by darling Maite Peroni (who’s about to release a new single), TV presenter Alejandra Espinoza and singer Victor Manuelle. And yes, Maluma was there too, looking great as ever. Goddess Thalia performed on stage next to Lali and Natti Natasha. I almost got goosebumps watching the performance of these three ladies, with Thalia rocking the stage like there is no age in this life.

London Fashion Week Opened With A Busy Schedule and Lots of Great Shows

London Fashion Week has just begun and I’m already in awe for these three collections:

Jamie Wei Huang’s collection at LFW is an exploring adventure, kept in place by shades of grey, mixed with blue and red. These three colors are the main characters, with blue slightly dominating more in presence and variation. Looks are build from layers of unpretentious pieces which consists of oversized shirts on top of some dress or a long skirt. Extra long scarves and socks keep warm and make it look cozy for the viewer.

Embed from Getty Images

British-Chinese-Vietnamese designer A Sai Ta showcased it’s very first ‘on its own’ collection at LFW under the name ASAI. The looks carry a bit of a Peter Pan vibe, however, taken one by one, we have a bunch of good looking pieces to wear on a day to day basis. Coats have just the right feel to ‘mix and match’ with more glammy pieces, and just as good to create a very casual look. I’ve seen a handsome pantsuit and I adore the look of the skirt with a middle split leading to patterned pants.

Gayeon collection has pieces of Victorian inspiration, at least the upper part, which makes dresses look quite tasteful. Colors throughout the entire collection are kept humble and unnoticeable but don’t be tricked by that. Clothes have so much more to offer in terms of feel and look.

The Music Blog – Releases Coming From Baschi and Tokio Hotel

Two releases from two bands coming from Europe are making the rounds of my Facebook feed. First comes from Swiss artist Baschi who has for a while now, released the latest work under ‘1986’ title. I love Baschi’s chill, emotional and homey vibe. The album consists of eleven tracks with ‘Alti Linde’, ‘Wenn dWält’ and ‘dFlügel uf’ being my picked ones. Baschi is currently touring In Switzerland.

The second band is none other than Tokio Hotel, who’s back with a very beautiful track – ‘Melancholic Paradise’. The song is going to be the official anthem for Germany‘s Next Topmodel 2019, or GNTM, hosted by Heidi Klum. I’m hearing Bill Kaulitz is going to be in the jury. Now that’s a treat! And I admit, I haven’t watched the show for a while. Maybe it’s time for a change.
