Met Gala 2018: See the Best Costumes from the Red Carpet

As you all know by now, Met Gala happened and ended in a blick of an eye, and that’s ok. In fact, it is amazing, considering the tales and gossip from after the event. I’m not into any of that (or maybe just a tiny bit), fashion being my number one priority. This edition’s theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” might be the fanciest of all years. It reaches out to all of us since just any soul knows a thing or two about the Catholic church – history, and symbols wise. Red carpet met face to face with different versions of the classic halo, golden silhouettes, fancy nuns, fashionable priests and popes, mystical virgins, angels, medieval crusaders and of course, the cross. So far so good, so read on and find Glaibera’s top favorite costumes from this year’s Met Gala edition.

Nicki Minaj

The singer took on the role of a fashionable crusader, wearing a black with red gradient combo lacquer gown with stunning tulle robe next to a lacy helmet that matched the colors of her majestic costume.

Karlie Kloss

Karlie Kloss kept it minimal and went for the safe approach, yet her look is one bomb appearance. As always, she looks impeccable, from the way she presents herself to her impeccable hairstyle, down to her catchy black dress.

Kim K

Kim Kardashians’s appearance took my breath away. I adore the way she went with her makeup for the event. Eyes are strong, fierce and somehow timeless. Hair is perfect, flattering the shape of her head and shoulders. The dress is tailored to fit like a second skin on her figure. It almost looks as if gold has been poured on her body.

Cara Delevingne

Even behind the mystery of her crusader like vail, Cara’s distinctive features are shining through, leaving no room for confusion. We all know who’s there miss Cara!

Embed from Getty Images
Stella Maxwell

The model sported an angel/fairy type of look. Kendall Jenner had the same approach, although way more put and realistic (hairstyle wise). Back to Stella Maxwell, her long golden hair is a piece of art. Makeup is just perfect. All goes smoothly with her gorgeous gown.

Ariana Grande

I am so in love with Ariana’s gown! What an exquisite piece! Designer Vera Wang did an amazing job at creating the perfect look for both the event and for the beautiful singer, who looks delicate, delicious and enchanting.

Anne Hathaway

Very pleased to see Anne Hathway back and ready to slay on the red carpet, which is what she did. The actress rocked in her red pompous gown and golden halo, looking like she just came to life from a fancy painting in which a feminine figure is portrayed as a beautiful goddess-like angel.

Michelle Williams

Crusader was for the beautiful actress, and so she did. The dress embodies all the elements from a soldier’s costume, except that it is a dress and a stunning one too.

Embed from Getty Images
Anna Wintour

Anna Wintour skipped her usual approach when it comes to the dresses she chooses, but her choice for the event did not disappoint. How can it be, when the designer is none other than Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel? Final verdict: absolutely superb!

December 14 -15 Celebrity Fashion

Diane Kruger took her velvet blazer dress to ACRIA’s 22nd annual holiday dinner. The actress went for an all-black outfit, topped with a single white stripe at the sleeves and on her long fabric belt. She then added more light, by carrying with her a black clutch completely studded with pearls. Love it!

Singer Lena, who not long ago made my day by attending Chanel’s Metiers D’Art fashion show, as a front row face, was seen rocking just the other day a Kim Kardashian kind of look, with black top, track pants and boots, while performing live on stage at Huxleys, in Berlin. I like this approach on her.

Embed from Getty Images

I’m glad seeing Kylie Minogue in a different place other than on stage (not that I’m complaining). It happened in Melbourne at the premiere of her latest project, comedy movie ‘Swinging Safari’. Her look for the event is relaxed, trendy and fresh, with a good conversation between shoes and dress.

Singer and actress Maite Peroni made a delightful appearance on the red carpet while attending the premiere of musical drama ‘The Greatest Showman’, in Mexico City. Wouldn’t call myself exactly the biggest fan of her dress, but I will pretend I’m ok with it just because I like her. Rebelde anyone?

Francia Raisa’s flared and extraordinaire pants have made my day, cause they are just cool. Love how the waist is built, love the stripes, the colors, the shape and even the length. She wore them with a cropped top, just simple one, and some pretty red strappy heels, the classic style. And that’s how it’s done.

Although I’m not into these type of showy dresses, I’m gonna go and make a second exception for today, since Brittany Snow’s dress has those playful flowers placed nicely as a cover-up of some sort. It is such an innocent element, but it does so much to this dress, so much so that I will say yes to the dress. And besides, Britanny Snow is quite the charmer. In the end, it all works together well.

Celebrity Fashion Before The Weekend Begins

Ciara’s impressive ponytail she wore on the red carpet at the Billboard Women In Music 2017 may trick you into believing you’re watching a Leo woman, but her beautiful face betrays her Scorpio astrological sign. As for her dress, the singer chose an off-shoulder gown dress with an impressive back, all white topped with a black skirt.

Mia Moretti attended the LAND of distraction Launch Event, in LA, wearing a see-through black dress on top of her wide leg jeans. She accentuated her waist with a black belt – that’s pretty much all that she did to her outfit. Simple and effective. Love it!

Celebrity stylist Johnny Wujek brought his support and coolness to Christian Siriano’s new book ‘Dresses To Dream About’ launch party. What makes a huge difference in his outfit is the pink rose and vintage handkerchief he wore in his jacket’s chest pocket, next to all the other boyish elements. I kind of wish his jeans were longer but other than that his outfit is a hit.

I love how Andrea Riseborough changed the destiny of her outfit by adding a pair of metallic silver boots to her baby blue soft dress. Even her very blond hair fits in wonderfully in the whole arrangement. Honestly, it couldn’t have been better. She wore this outfit in LA, at Roksanda Ilincic’s dinner, hosted by Nordstrom and Olivia Kim.

I’ve been missing seeing Scarlett Johansson, and there she is, attending the American Museum Of Natural History’s 2017 Museum Gala, wearing red and looking marvelous. And now I can finally go on with my life.

Highlights from Energy Star Night 2017

Screen Shot 2017-11-21 at 13.23.23

Switzerland’s biggest indoor music event, Energy Star Night, opened its gate once again, at Hallenstadion, in Zurich, on Friday, November 17 to party it up, entertaining a good number of about 13.000 music lovers with international artists and country’s most beloved music groups and singers.

The night did not miss out on emotional moments, especially when the organizers brought from the street on stage to perform a talented street musician, named Jakula Ondra, from Poland. Newcomer of the year moment is also an emotional one, in particular for the winner, Swiss artist Nemo.

Good music made it from the stage to the crowd, coming from American singer artist Anastacia, UK artist Anne-Marrie who performed the well-known track Rockabye and the very talented Mark Forster, who’s come all the way from Germany to perform his energizing track ‘Chöre’. Switzerland’s darling Luca Hänni performed ‘Purple Rain’ in a duet with Jontsch. Swiss group Baba Shrimps, Finnish band Sunrise Avenue, French Dj duo Ofenbach, Alex Aiomo, Berlin-based Dj Alle Farben and Swiss duo Remedy & Manu-L performed as well.

The crowd received the very best ending, in a Swiss kind of way, with none other than Swiss rap duo Lo & Leduc performing on stage.

CHANEL: A Tribute To Juliane Moore

Embed from Getty Images

I’ve been missing seeing Chanel in the media lately, and then it happened, a small event that had me get the needed dosage of glam and class. With this out of the way, I can now talk about what it was.

Held in New York, at MOMA, the event gathered friends and supporters to celebrate Julianne Moore under a long and fancy title event: The Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit presented by CHANEL: A Tribute to Julianne Moore. Chanel and Julianne Moore in the same sentence equal a rush of excitement, cause I’m in love with both subjects. For such an occasion the actress brought two of her family members to join in – husband and daughter. Kristen Stewart, Elizabeth Banks, Jessica Seinfeld and Jerry Seinfeld, designer Rachel Roy were there, looking just as classy and refined.

I have to talk a bit about how everyone behaved fashion-wise. Kristen Stewart integrated her cropped top signature into a pants and jacket ensemble, while Moore opted for sparks and a touch of sensuality. Metallic made quite an appearance among the silhouettes – let’s not forget it is a powerful trend for SS 2018 – why not wear it already? And, last but not least, I’m having a big crush on Jessica Seinfeld’s lovely pink and brown dress.

The Good Looks Of Chanel’s Front Row at Paris Fashion Week SS 2018

Chanel front row is what I live for, all thanks to a well-selected group of faces, some of whom I’m a fan of. As a plus, there’s always a new name or several new faces that I’m seeing and that keeps things interesting. Singer Victor Solf and actress Angela Yuen are two newbies I had to search on Google. As for the ones I know, I’m glad G-Dragon is back for Chanel front row, he was missing for a second or two. Anna Mouglalis, Marie Ange Casta, Irene Kim and Park Shin-hye are well known for their faithfulness towards Chanel. New face but known, very known in fact, is Cindy Crawford, proudly and good looking too, posing amongst the rest for Chanel front row.

Tommy Hilfiger’s Tartan & Plaid Inspired Fall/Winter 2017 Collection at LFW

Tommy Hilfiger joined the fun at London Fashion Week, but not the summer or spring where in his mind. The designer revealed its AW 2017 collection, which is a good sight to see among all the SS 2018 collections happening these days. Touched by the grunge feel and presented as urban looks, the collection involved the welcoming sight of tartan and plaid patterns served throughout the show in various shapes and sizes. Long coats, jackets, slip dress, schoolgirl-inspired dresses and skirts, winter long jackets, and pants, were paired with black stockings, beanie hats, and almost everyone on the show had fingerless black with red pattern gloves. Few blurry flower print pieces made it into this collection as well, presented by models dressed in stockings, with leather shorts or long pants, minus the beanies.

Emporio Armani’s SS 2018 Collection at London Fashion Week

Emporio Armani’s collection at London Fashion Week had a little Barbie doll vibe to it, thanks to translucent and iridescent fabrics of pastel aquatic colors modeled into stylish tailored pants, schoolgirl-inspired and long dresses with soft ruffled bottoms, various tops, and summer casual and blazer jackets. Small geometric figures prints and applique made their way into the collection, looking jolly, almost cute, especially since the designer paired them with before mentioned pastel aquatic colored pieces. A nice change of seen was made by modern hieroglyph styled prints. The clothes looked marvelous and surprisingly still in tune with what happened before on the runway. The glimpse of color red was there, yet managed to have no say in the final result. Talking of which, could not have been better placed in time.

EMMY 2017 Fashion Highlights

Embed from Getty Images

I could put words into a puzzle and still, anyone could guess that is about Nicole Kidman perfect style. Yesterday she stunned again, this time in a red tea-length gown. She surely knows what colors to wear for her light skin and blonde hair.

Embed from Getty Images

I preferred Michelle Pfeiffer not only for looking flawless at 59 but for her black lace and tulle cocktail dress that she wore with grace and style. You go, girl!

Embed from Getty Images

I’m not always into Jessica Biel‘s fashion choices, but for this edition of Emmy Awards I have to admit, she made my heart flutter in approval. The hairstyle for the night sets her apart from the rest and with the help of the wrap gown she’s transformed herself into a real goddess.

E-News correspondent and television personality Zuri Hall embarked on an adventurous journey by choosing to wear this fringe metallic dress, which is not only splendid but unconventional too.

Embed from Getty Images

Actress Vanessa Kirby looked delicate in her fairytale dress, up to the point where the pulled back hair meets the eyes of the viewer. The look is ultimately girly but strong too.

Collections That Stood Out at MBFW Istanbul

Rashid by Rasit Bagzibagli
Embed from Getty Images

Rasit Bagzibagli showed off a fun summery collection with a pleasant conversation of sparkly fabrics, artistically assembles of colorful stripes and a relaxed approach.

Şiyar Akboğa
Embed from Getty Images

Siyar Akboga’s collection shown at MBFWI was far away from being romantic or anything of the sort, conquering eyes with elements of a fetish vibe like harness and mesh ripped off masks. In between, he added jacket suit dressy looks, wide leg pants and a nice assembly of bralettes.

Umit Kutluk
Embed from Getty Images

Umit Kutluk had a couple of looks mastered with class and style for his SS 2018 collection, at MBFWI. The designer achieved greatness by shaping fabrics in an unorthodox manner, and then, with the help of girly colors, feather, embroidery and flattering cuts he added style and beauty.

Mehtep Elaidi
Embed from Getty Images

A perfect high-fashion worthy collection of Mehtep Elaidi happened at MBFWI. 60’s palette of colors painted folk-inspired clothes styled by the designer in a modern manner. The inspiration is barely noticeable or at least, too well made to disrupt the rest of the conversation.

Best of Shows From NYFW SS 2018 – Part 2

Paula Knorr
Embed from Getty Images

German designer Paula Knorr used the same approach like most of the brands presenting at NYFW and sent down the runway minimalistic silhouettes which she styled mostly on the sides, keeping the fabric flat on the face and back. The fabrics are shiny, velvety and lacquered, painted in soft browns, red, blue and white. For an extra feel, the designer had the models wearing knee-high boots in matching fabrics.

Xiao Li
Embed from Getty Images

Xiao Li had an adorable collection perfectly executed, with see-through fabrics shaped dolly like but in a nightgown manner and finished off in a modern kind of way. Puffy sleeves, gentle ruffles here and there, geometric flower embroidery at the hem, delicate stripes and soft unpretentious bows made this collection a total crush. Colors: baby pink, baby blue, red and white.

Zimmermann

Speaking of crushes, Zimmermann had me completely melted and mesmerized with their fresh looking sophisticated collection. It reminds me of the aristocracy, just modernized and free of social norms. It looked summery with the flower prints and vintage hand embroidered tablecloth style embroidery arrangements. This collection is delicious but ladylike, with short skirts and white beautifully embellished shirts and jackets with pointed shoulders.

Fenty Puma

Fenty Puma left me with a good impression, even though we are talking about sportswear. The whole collection abounds in shades of green and blue, played on eye-catching sports clothes, ranging from bralettes to leather costumes.

Best of Shows From NYFW SS 2018 – Part 1

Tom Ford
Embed from Getty Images

The woman from Tom Ford’s SS 2018 collection looked classy with a slight hint of a bad-ass nuance to her personality. Her clothes are undeniably comfy, appealing and alluring. The designer explored the minimalistic appearance, an approach often seen presented at NYFW for SS 2018.

Ulla Johnson
Embed from Getty Images

I don’t know if it’s the background for the show, but Ulla Johnson’s SS collection had me fallen in love with the clothes. I’m feeling the calmness in the colors she chose for this collection. I’m feeling the soft fabrics. It looks feminine and gentle, like a dream.

GCDS

GCDS’ collection is like a breath of fresh air among all the disproportionate romance going on.

Monse
Embed from Getty Images

Monse stands out from the crowd by having a lovely, down to earth collection, with sporty clothes mixed with casual high heels, socks here and there and hats.

Milly
Embed from Getty Images

I was surprised by how much I liked Milly’s collection. The tops are tiny, therefore quite revealing and I love that.

Adeam
Embed from Getty Images

Adeam is definitely one of the most well-made collections from this NYFW edition. And although the designer joined the existing obnoxious trends happening at the moment on the runway, the collection looks somehow unique from the rest. Fabrics are alluring, colors are mature, cuts are perfect.

Bibhu Mohapatra
Embed from Getty Images

Bibhu Mohapatra left me speechless with an outstanding collection of dresses looking very different from everything happening trend wise. He sent down the runway luxurious looking silhouettes to which I had a hard time choosing a favorite. Execution is perfect, down to the last detail. Colors are earthy and elegant. Shapes are flattering and feminine.

Taoray Wang
Embed from Getty Images

Taoray Wang is another designer with a great collection presented at NYFW. She kept it simple, and added the right details to lift up the mood of the clothes.

Tibi

Tibi had lovely long dresses and played with monochromatic silhouettes. The collection is elegant and modern yet unpretentious.

Continuing With Best of Fashion from Venice Film Festival: Amal Clooney, Jane Fonda and More

Embed from Getty Images

Amal Clooney’s lilac dress talked about romance, excellent craftsmanship, and high class. On top of that, the color and silhouette help to soften up some of the harshness dark hair usually has.

Embed from Getty Images

Avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson was amongst the many who showed up on the red carpet ahead of “Suburbicon” screening. Her positive attitude, together with her creative sense of dressing up went very well hand in hand. And literally, the highlight of her look is every single piece that she is wearing.

Embed from Getty Images

There’s somebody I do not know, who showed up wearing a fancy robe on top of his suit. The bow tie is a perfect touch to the whole affair.

Embed from Getty Images

One of my favorite actresses, Barbora Bobulova, was in high heels and lila dress for the photocall of ‘Diva!’, and I can’t take my eyes off of her adorable look. The bangs add more of the girly vibe.

Embed from Getty Images

Actress Isabella Ferrari joined Bobulova in the pursuit of looking gentle and feminine, choosing a just as much loved color, which is a lovely pink of a long dress with shirt collar.

Embed from Getty Images

Jane Fonda looked sublime on the red carpet in her embroidered gown, for the screening of her latest movie ‘Our Souls at Night’.

Embed from Getty Images

Milena Mancini’s super relaxed but fashionable look that she wore for the ‘Il Contagio’ photocall has given me some inspiration for my own looks. Love her hair, the posture and all that she’s wearing.

First Glimpse of Best Fashion From Venice Film Festival

Embed from Getty Images

Spanish actress Lola Duenas was all a smile before the screening of her latest movie Zama, and I’m looking at her dress thinking to myself that I might’ve found the reason for her cheerfulness. Not that the actress shouldn’t be in high spirits, but the dress just might have gone through a trick. True or not, I am inclined to be in favor of her look. Next time, just rock it with more confidence, Lola Duenas!

Embed from Getty Images

Jury member Mark Cousins adapted the Scottish kilt to a handsome red carpet appearance, honoring its roots and looking mighty stylish while doing it.

Embed from Getty Images

The screening of ‘Downsizin’g happened with glitz and glam, but Rebecca Hall was the one capturing my attention. She had the look of refined elegance in her Armani beaded dress and behind ears bob.

Embed from Getty Images

Kristen Wiig looked stunning in her plunging neckline Zuhair Murad dress and perfect sleek hair while posing on the red carpet before the screening of ‘Downsizing’. Go girl!

Best Celebrity Looks From Week August 1

Freida Pinto and Olivia Palermo were among the attendees at Women’s Health and FEED’s 6th Annual Party Under the Stars on August 5, and they both looked impeccable, the reason why I’ve decided to gush a bit about their outfits. Palermo is obviously a pro in the fashion department, and for the event she chose to wear a maxi polka dots skirt that she paired with a white ruffle shirt. Her nude and gold strappy high heels sandals sealed the deal elegantly.

Freida Pinto skipped color, instead wearing a Resort 2018 white ensemble with black patterns, consisting of a maxi skirt and shirt. She finished her relaxed appearance with black strappy heeled mules.

Embed from Getty Images

Although extremely gorgeous, this Couture Fall 2017 gray wool jumpsuit is not the easiest piece to wear. However, for the screening of her latest movie ‘Wind River’, actress Elizabeth Olsen looked magnificent while wearing it. For the completion of her look she chose to wear black pumps, a choice that kept her look close to the image portrayed by the brand for this collection.
