Chanel fashion shows always are this great opportunity to take a moment for yourself and enjoy the finer things in life. This time around, the Paris New-York 2018/19 Métiers d’art show, presented at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on 4th December, took on a mission to explore the old days of Egypt. Hierglophyps, lots of gold accents, representative cuts and shapes (clothes-wise), makeup and hair, and the setup, all created a passage to going back in time.

Back to the clothes, I haven’t seen that much bright gold in a Chanel show ever! Collars, wristbands, hems, high knee boots and stylish shoes, trousers, tights, and jewelry. These are all pieces in this collection, that may come sometimes in other colors, but more than often, gold was the approach. The tweed costume might seem at first looking out of place next to the brightness of the gold, but the more you look, the better it stands. By the way, the costumes and singular pieces LOOK amazing! There’s also more color than usual, which is always a pleasent sight in a Chanel show.
