You Should Know About These Shows From Hera Seoul Fashion Week FW 2019

Hera Seoul Fashion Week had it’s very last FW 2019 shows just a couple of days ago, and it’s still on everyone’s mind. The five days event packed as much fashion as possible and prepared the Korean fashion-savvy for the following cold season.

Chang Kwang Hyo and few other names, including Sewing Boundaries who seemed to know the essence of Korean street style fashion – including the beloved long puffer jacket, bravely opened day one of Seoul Fashion Week. Besides the well-tailored men suit the South Korean designer introduced in his Caruso Menswear collection long aprons with a canvas feel. Ultimately the apron becomes a look-alike real-life art piece.

Songzio showcased a slightly more aggressive look, yet the clothes are inviting. Here we meet the metropolitan man who likes to keep it simple, without losing its edginess. Every piece looks impeccable, showing hints that he is a perfectionist above all. He wants the comfort, the style, and he is also the kind of man who likes to look unnaproachable.

Behind Munn’s unique look stands South Korean designer Han Hyun-min who won just last season the Best New Designer prize at Seoul Fashion Week. The presentation for FW 2019 had a mystical feel thanks to mysterious characters hiding behind lacy full face coverups, bucket hats, and odd makeup. In spite of the secrecy, each piece is on the catwalk to win your fashionable side. Flexible, modern, easy to combine with other pieces and overall just easy to wear.

Day five and last day of Seoul Fashion Week had the Charm’s fashion show, where models sported white highlights and as we know the South Koreans are all about looking as pretty as possible. The grey hair had been styled to look pretty, and every face on the catwalk received the good hairstyle, except for when the models rocked caps of all sorts. The clothes almost remind of Cruella, with spots of black on white mostly appearing to be stars of different sizes.

Asian Film Awards had its 13th edition today in Hong Kong, with nominees from all over Asia and winners alike. Obviously, what everyone wants to know is what movie from all five nominated for the best film won the award. Movie director Hirokazu Koreeda described Shoplifters ( Manbiki kazoku) as his “socially conscious” film, and a project he was thinking about for a couple of years. In the movie, a family of five is making it day by day with the help of shoplifting, when everything changes with the arrival of a stranger into the household. Shoplifters already brought director Hirokazu Koreeda the Palme d’Or award in May, during the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival. At the 13th Edition of Asian Film Awards, the movie received Best Film and Best Original Music award.

Best Director went to Lee Chang-dong for the South Korean psychological drama Burning, where he also produced and co-wrote. The film premiered on May 16, 2018, at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Early in 2019, although it had not received an actual nomination, Burning made it into 91st Academy Awards’ Best Foreign Language Film final of nine-film shortlist, on February 24 and with this becoming the first Korean film to make it to the final if this category. Director Lee Chang-dong also won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other winners include South Korean singer-actor Kim Jae-joong for the AFA Next Generation Award, Chinese actor and model Huang Jingyu for Best Newcomer with 2018 Chinese war film Operation Red Sea.

Jason Derulo’s Amazing Collab With LAY and Boy Band ‘NCT 127’

Jason Derulo pulled out a collab to be remembered between him, LAY and NCT 127. ‘Let’s Shut Up & Dance’ sounds like a good invitation, and obviously, we are not going to refuse it. As for LAY, the singer is doing pretty well in his solo career, considering he is also busy with his EXO projects. Congrats to boy band NCT 127 too. They look amazing in the video, which btw, have you seen it? Those video effects, damn! LAY’s sensual voice has been catching attention, and when I say ‘sensual’ I am just saying it the way it sounds to me. And it’s all good and fun. I am really enjoying this track and I love the music video.

Boy Band BTS Wins and Performs on Stage at the Billboard Music Awards 2018

South Korean boy band BTS for the second time on the red carpet at Billboard Awards seems to me like an ethereal experience. The group released just in time for the awards their Fake Love track from Love Yourself album, released May the 18th. I have already pressed the replay button countless times on their music video, but let’s talk more about what happened at the Billboards. The boys took home the award for Top Social Artist for the second year in the row and even performed on stage (wow-yes!; and yeah, I’ve watched that too), achieving a well-deserving first K-pop act to ever perform at the BBMAs. That’s an awesome way to spend your time at such an event as Billboard Awards; the boys can only be proud of such success, which now they can share with the supportive fan base, aka Army.

Fashion-wise, I have to start with Jin. He looked impeccable on the red carpet, wearing a shirt, tie, vest and matching pants next to white sneakers. Very cool, effortless yet fashionable. This look suits him like a glove. As a group, the band gave out a chill vibe, with casual shirts, jeans, white sneakers, belts, and scarfs. Jimin, RM and J-hope changed the sneakers for loafers, adding diversity to the general look. Love them!

In-Short New Year’s Eve 2018 Around the Globe

Ready or not, a brand new year took the official control of our magic reality, giving us new hopes for new beginnings, second chances, true love, wealth, better health and so on. Where were you when the midnight rang? If you care, I was facing the most incredible fireworks show from the coolest view. And that’s that.

Worldwide, artists had it like artists, meaning traveling and entertaining. Hopefully, there was enjoyment involved as well. Speaking of which, on-air correspondent Maria Menounos got married to her longtime partner, Keven Undergaro, the couple making it official in Times Square during the live broadcast of Fox’s New Year Eve live broadcast. Despite the cold, Menounos kept the traditional attire, looking gorgeous in her embroidered bridal dress. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Times Square was the place to be on 31 December, as South Korean boy band BTS performed at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, next to a pretty fancy list: rapper and boyfriend of singer Halsey, G-Eazy (I love them together), gorgeous Hailee Steinfeld, a very casual looking Charlie Puth, Bebe Rexha, Mariah Carey, and so many more.

Paris was another great location to be, as the Arc de Triomphe took on the task of being a perfect animated canvas, changing its appearance in colorful drawings during the New Year’s Celebration on the Champs-Elysees.

Passing tradition through the door between the old and new year was preferred in many parts of the world. In Germany, winter swimmers had no ice to fight for their New Year’s Day tradition, but that did not put an end to the task. I wouldn’t go as far, but I can say Happy New Year to you, beloved citizen of Earth, wherever you are, and whatever you are doing.

The Good Looks From Louis Vuitton Men’s SS 2018 Front Row

Louis Vuitton showcased its Men’s SS 2018 collection on 22 June, at Domaine du Palais Royal for Paris Men’s Fashion Week. For the occasion, it had invited a bunch of good looking male specimens to sit front row, and I have fallen for it because I’m a hetero chick. Can’t help it. Sorry, Naomi Campbell and Lilly Allen!

The suit seemed to be the choice to wear for front row display. Actors Goong Yoo and Ben Robson rocked the blue, with Goong showing love for the style of FW 2017 collection, with one side shirt tucked in and belt designed to sit loose. Xu Weizhou’s fresh face worked wonders with the look of his pajama suit. Actor Yang Shuo joined the group looking sophisticated, and Will Peltz kept it comfortable.

Song Joong-ki Plays Independent Fighter In ‘Battleship Island’ Film

Back in 2016, South Korean actor Song Joong-ki shined in his role of the charismatic captain Yoo Si-jin in major hit proclaimed “Descendants of The Sun” television series, for which he won Most Popular Actor and iQiyi Global Star awards at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards.

Not long after Descendants aired, the actor began filming for movie Battleship Island, a film that speaks about the hardships occurred in the Japanese occupation era. This movie comes as a surprise for fans, but then it is not such a big one since Song seems to do very well in heroic roles. And although the vibe is very different from its last movie work, I get the feeling that the actor will shine once again as a noble character.

The movie hasn’t got an official date release and has been sold to 113 countries according to CJ Entertainment. On June 15, South Korean actors Hwang Jung-Min, Kim Su-An, So Ji-Sub, Lee Jung-Hyun alongside Song attended the press conference for ‘The Battleship Island’ at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. As a final say, I’m suggesting a napkin refill and then holiday recovery.
